A little while back I was asked if I’d like to submit a sketchcard insert for the Good 2 B Bad hobby set. The theme is villains from movies, comics, and tv shows mashed-up in the tradition of GPK style cards.
I started with pen and alcohol markers like I would for any of the Garbage Chute Droids sketchcards and then the card surface fought my marker and the colours were not as rich as I wanted them. What to do?
I had a bottle of clear gesso sitting on the desk in front of me. I don’t paint nearly often enough. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to give my first painted sketchcard a try. Worse comes to worst, I would just make another and use coloured pencils. Right?

I was so happy with this one I decided to paint another. There’s a whole story behind that one as well. Stay tuned!
