“Weapon Venom”
About: My first introduction to Wolverine and artist Marc Silvestri’s work was the Weapon X storyline and the cover of Wolverine #48 had the biggest impact. The combination of this feral, spiky, clawed man covered in tech while standing naked in the snow was a powerful image on the comic rack. It would leave a lasting impression even after Venom was cemented as my favourite Marvel character. Silvestri’s version of Weapon X would remain as my top pick for the numerous versions of the storied character. I’d always wonder how much deadlier Weapon X Logan would have been if the next step in the program was joining him with the Venom symbiote. This “What If…” cover is the result.
